Press release
Winter flights direct from Turku to Kittilä27.10.2009 Turku Airport is adding yet another popular route to its growing roster. Finncomm Airlines has announced that it will operate direct flights between Turku and Kittilä three times a week on Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays from 20th February to 18th April. The route will be served by a new ATR 72-500 series aircraft carrying 68 passengers.
Tickets can be bought at the Finncomm Airlines online shop and from travel agencies all over Finland. Package trips are already available through Levin Matkailu.
Finncomm started running direct flights from Tampere to Kittilä last winter and the results were encouraging. Southwest Finland is an important market for the northern Lapland tourism business, demand is high and expected to increase thanks to the new service.
“We are delighted with the new route as it will bring Lapland closer to tourists and investors from Southwest Finland,” says Jussi Töyrylä, Managing Director of Levin Matkailu Oy.
Finncomm Airlines is a privately owned Finnish airline founded in 1993 and has worked in close co-operation with Finnair since 1998. Finncomm carried some 870,000 passengers in 2008 with a staff of 320.
