Press release
Air Baltic to start Turku–Tallinn flights15.08.2009 Air Baltic will start direct daily flights between Turku and Tallinn at the beginning of October, inaugurating the airline’s first Estonia–Finland route.
Air Baltic launched its Turku operation in July 2009 with scheduled flights between Turku and Latvian capital Riga.
Initially focused on business flights as an SAS subsidiary, Air Baltic is now an independent operator whose biggest shareholder is the Latvian State. Air Baltic is not a true budget airline, but does aim to offer inexpensive flights for leisure travellers. Along with Turku, Air Baltic has this year introduced a total of eleven new destinations from its home base in Riga.
The Tallinn route will add a new country and city to Turku Airport’s roster of destinations, which already includes direct flights to Helsinki, Tampere and Oulu in Finland, and Stockholm, Copenhagen, Gdansk and Riga abroad.
