TNT investment in Turku includes a new air route to Tallinn

10.02.2009Printable version

Global express deliveries operator TNT transfers Russian transit traffic to Turku and opens a new air route between Turku and Tallinn.
TNT is reorganising its transit traffic to Moscow and St Petersburg through Finland so that shipments are carried directly from Turku to their destination rather than via Helsinki. At the same time, TNT will start flying from Turku to Tallinn. Shipments from Central Europe were previously carried to Estonia via Poland and the new route means new jobs at the Turku terminal.

TNT consolidates in Turku
Investments in the Turku region support TNT’s decision last autumn to adopt Turku as the focus of its Finnish air cargo operations. TNT’s daily express cargo flights between Turku and Liège, Belgium, commenced in 2004 as its own terminal facilities were built at Turku Airport. TNT terminal space at the airport doubled at the beginning of 2008 and in September the company brought all its Finnish cargo flights to Turku.
